Happy Thanksgiving,

My name is Lisa S... from Concord, NC. Dr. Rutledge performed my surgery 4 years ago Nov. 26th. It was actually 2 days before Thanksgiving that year. I am happy to report that my experience has been text book in every way. I have had some issues, but only those caused by my own stupidity. I have learned better. I do have a thyroid problem and am taking Synthroid for that. I am slightly anemic, so I take a slow release iron pill each day. Other than that, Healthy as horse - just not the size of one.

Weight has remained relatively the same. I got down from 261 (day of surgery) to 149 at my lowest. I have stayed within the 151 range since that time. At the start of this year, I did gain about 9 pounds (freaked me out) but I was taking steroids for a severe cold that wouldn't go away. Everyone kept telling me that the weight would come off after I stopped the meds, well, it didn't. My husband has been on a diet for about 6 months and lost 40 pounds. I decided to join him, if nothing else to be eating better. Within 2 weeks, I lost those 9 pounds back down to 150. I have been there ever since. I guess that is as far as my body will go. That seems to be the ideal size for me, although I would love to loose 10 more pounds. Even if I never do, I am happier than I have been in my entire life. I am more active, feel 1,000 times more sexy to my husband (and he lets me know it) and I have come out of the shell that I had closed myself into when I was so heavy.
